Artist: The Decemberists Album: The Crane Wife Song: The Island: The Landlord's Daughter Tabbed by: Taylor Clarke (clarke41@mac.com) The most important thing in the Am and D section is the keyboard, so the picking is approximate. On the Morning Becomes Eclectic video he is basically just strumming here but you can see him add the C note on the A string with his pinky finger. I do think this is the closest you can come to a good picking pattern for this part though. She cursed, she shivered, she cried for mercy "My gold and silver if thou will release me!" The guitars are playing this. e|-2-2---------| B|-3-3---------| G|-2-2---------| D|-0-0---------| A|-----3-2-1-0-| E|-------------| Here is the keyboard part. e|---------------------------------------| B|-----------------0-1-0---0-------------| G|---------0-2-2-2-------2---2-0---0-----| D|-0-0-0-2-----------------------2---2-0-| A|---------------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------| e|-------------------------------0-----------| B|-----------------0-1-0-1-3-1-3---3-1-3-1---| G|---------0-2-2-2-------------------------2-| D|-0-0-0-2-----------------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------| E|-------------------------------------------| e|---------------------------------------| B|-----------------0-1-0---0-------------| G|---------0-2-2-2-------2---2-0---0-----| D|-0-0-0-2-----------------------2---2-0-| A|---------------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------| G Bb F G# Eb Bbm A Dm Bb e|-1--1-| B|-3--3-| G|-2--3-| D|-0--0-| A|------| E|------| Dm Bb Dm Bb etc. I'll take no gold, miss.
